All of our hand-dyed yarns are lovingly hand-dyed by us. Each skein is unique, and we invest a great deal of time and love into it.
Preparation of raw wool
First, the raw wool is prepared for dyeing. By placing the strands in the wool, the fibers are opened so that the dye can penetrate the fibers optimally. The strands are then shaped and prepared for dyeing.
Preparing the dyeing equipment
In the second step, all the necessary materials for dyeing are gathered. The color pigments are precisely weighed using a precision scale and mixed with the appropriate liquid. The raw wool is placed in a container for later, targeted and protected dyeing.
Dyeing the wool
The third step is colorful. This is where the wool strands come into play – they are poured, sprinkled, or dipped in the dye as desired. There's room for creativity here: no two strands are alike, and that's precisely what makes our hand-dyed wool so special and unique.
Fixing the color
Finally, the dye is fixed in a pot using targeted heat. This ensures that the colors remain firmly embedded in the fiber and won't bleed during subsequent washing.
Preparing for sale
Finally, our hand-dyed yarns are gently dried and formed into the final strands – ready for you to transform them into unique projects.
